POSITION OVERVIEW

Gallopade is seeking a graphic designer to join our rapidly growing company as part of our Product Development team. If hired for this role, you will be responsible for designing print and digital curriculum resources for grades K-8. The ideal candidate has exceptional InDesign skills, a passion for visual storytelling, a strong sense of design, and the ability to transform concepts into compelling, communicative print and digital products.

As a graphic designer at Gallopade, you have the unique opportunity to create resources that equip teachers to teach in an engaging, effective way. Key Responsibilities:

Design engaging, communicative, age-appropriate content for Gallopade’s print and digital products, including student textbooks/workbooks, teacher’s editions, assessments, and supplemental resources. This responsibility includes:

• Build and use InDesign styles, color palettes, master pages, font libraries, and other “best practices” to achieve professional design results and workflow efficiencies

• Incorporate impactful visuals, including photographs, icons, illustrations, charts, tables, timelines, and other graphical elements, to make content accessible and engaging

• Make design revisions and text edits accurately and in a timely manner

• Maintain brand consistency by ensuring designs align with brand guidelines and maintain a seamless look throughout all projects

• Prepare final design files for digital and print production, ensuring quality and accuracy

  
  

Additionally:

• Follow, improve, and establish product development workflows and documentation

• Collaborate with other designers, writers, editors, digital developers, project managers, and company management

• Brainstorm and develop new creative concepts for products

• Stay up to date on new technology and trends to keep our products current and our processes streamlined

Required Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field

• At least 5 years of professional graphic design experience, ideally in educational curriculum

• Expert InDesign skills with proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator

• Strong understanding of typography, color theory, layout, and branding principles

• Experience with both digital and print design

• Excellent communication and time-management skills

• Attention to detail and ability to work within deadlines

• Knowledge of HTML/CSS basics is a plus
